Show Summary

I am starting to feel like a broken record but, this show was amazing! I am always working under the assumption that so far everything has been a fluke and soon things will bomb. This show definitely did not bomb. I was talking to the show organizer, Chad Fullerton, before it started. We both agreed that a crowd of 20 people would be good, and would lead to a chill night. Fast forward a few hours, and we are running around the gallery trying to keep up with people buying the pieces. We had approximately 75 people come through the door that night and sold off the entire show within four hours! For comparison, if any gallery sells a few pieces the night of an opening, its considered a good night. Vintage Resurrection sold 24 pieces in four hours. It really speaks volumes about the quality of our local artists and how amazingly supportive our community can be. If you missed the show, here is a quick rundown of the theme: Each artist had to find a piece of art from a thrift store, then “resurrect” it by adding their own flair. The final pieces ranged from sneaking in a few things like a 50’s pickup into a picture of a covered bridge to changing a portrait of a lady into medusa. It was awesome how each artist handled the constraint of working around someone else’s work. -Will
