An Update on Clientele – 3/20/19

It is hard to believe we are almost a quarter the way through 2019. Spring is reluctantly around the corner and the off-time I gave myself to complete some renovations here at Clientele is almost over (yikes). Since our last post was at the end of January, I figured a quick update on Clientele is in order.  Here is what we have been up to since Show of Hands and Cold Start:

  • We held a very impromptu Vaporwave inspired hangout on the 26th of January.   If you were unaware of this party, it is probably because we announced it two hours before it began. We had the Rolex 24 showing on the projector, a Super Nintendo out, a Vaperwave playlist playing, and overall just had a fun time hanging out.
  • OVConnect had held a social here in the middle of February. It was a fun, casual meet up and brought a group of locals in who either have not had the opportunity to come to a show or were not aware of us. It was cool see these new faces!
  • On March 9th, we held “Dan’s Thing”. This was a memorial party for our friend, Daniel Granofsky. Dan passed away late last year. He was hilarious and just a fun person to be around. The party was setup up by Aaron Varlas, and we were happy to host. I was having such a good time I completely forgot to take any pictures, except the terrible one posted in this post.
  • Pittsburgh Moto wrote an article about Cold Start as well as Clientele in their latest issue. This issue, number 005, just released andhas some interesting articles. If you had not gotten a chance to look into them yet, I highly suggest it (and I don’t even ride motorcycles). Check out the article here!

I also want to highlight some of the renovations that have occurred since Show of Hands. After Cold Start, I decided not to schedule another major show until Vintage Resurrection in April (4/20/19). This was done to give me some time to tear into some of our issues and renovate the building some more. The biggest thing to talk about is the electric. We have had Jones Electric redoing most of our setup in order to fix some issues and provide more flexibility for our shows. While most of this won’t get noticed, the new lighting in the gallery will! We plan on starting the ADA ramp here shortly in the spring, and have already spoken to the city and some contractors. We also have a slew of other improvements in the works, so stayed tuned as we keep improving!
