Summary:

Our first show was a huge success! I was hesitant about the viability of the entire idea of the gallery, and was getting very nervous about its success. That all faded pretty quickly into the event. We had a great crowd, a great group of artwork to display from several incredibly talented artists, and had several great name suggestions (as well as several joke names). As you know now, the name picked was Clientele Art Studio. Clientele, a name my friend Danny Padden originally picked as the name of the party only, was picked by multiple people throughout the night. At the end of the event, the name just felt right. We actually used the entire “Name this Place” board during the construction of the studios. Kind of like a terrible time capsule. Hopefully, this place takes off and we will never need to tear down the studio walls, but if we do, we will get one last laugh at names like “Stone Church Video”, “Zein’s”, and “Needs Fucking Chairs”. Overall, I was (and still am) incredibly humbled by and appreciative of the constant flow of positive comments from the show to present. My only hope is that this studio will continue to meet and exceed your expectations. Our goal is to expand your ideas for what Wheeling’s art scene can be, what our local artists can produce, and how our art community can influence ourselves and our city.
